Flynns Defeat Pontiacs, 36-16, August 22, 1866

On Wednesday Aug. 22, 1866, the Flynn and Pontiac Clubs met at what later became Sulphur Dell park.

“Base Ball Match.– The Base Ball Match at Sulphur Spring Bottom, on Wednesday, between the Flynn and the Pontiac Base Ball Clubs, both of this city, for a splended black-walnut bat, resulted in the triumph of the Flynn Club, which scored 36 to 16.”
